Join us on June 23 from 5:30-7:30pm for a 108 Sun Salutations practice. Yes, you read that correctly… 108 Sun Salutations. As the number may be intimidating, don’t let it steer you away from coming along.
This single focused practice moves us into meditation by silencing the mind, allowing us space to be fully with ourselves and our breath. It is believed the fire built during this practice to be extremely cleansing and detoxifying not only for the body but also for the mind and heart. The continuous movement of Sun Salutations helps activate prana to move stagnant energy within the body so we can get in touch with ourselves and set new intentions for the next season. It will require surrender, patience, and an open mind.

Why 108?
The number 108 is a significant number in many aspects of the universe. It appears in ancient texts with 108 Pithas and Upanishads. The mala prayer beads containing 108 beads. In Vedic culture, 108 is seen as the number of wholeness and existence. There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet consisting of both masculine and feminine, 54 x 2= 108. The list goes on.. we’ll tell you more about the number 108 at the practice.
Why June 23?
As we will be experiencing the winter solstice on June 21, we thought it would be a great time for this cleansing practice. The winter solstice symbolizes death and rebirth. A time to release the old and form new beginnings, ready to take on the winter season.
